Spring break makes March the single busiest month on average. If you must visit, stick to the first week only — everything after March 8 gets progressively more crowded.
March 15–28, 2026 is EXTREME (rated 10 and 9). Parks reach capacity, waits exceed 2 hours for headliners, and Lightning Lane/Express Pass may not be enough. If your dates fall here, Animal Kingdom is your best bet for relatively shorter waits.

Animal Kingdom is the least crowded Disney World park during spring break — often running 1–2 levels below Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. At Universal, Universal Studios Florida tends to run slightly lighter than Islands of Adventure. EPCOT's Flower and Garden Festival adds ambience but also weekend crowds.
If traveling in spring break (Mar 8–31), book Lightning Lane/Express Pass immediately. These sell out weeks in advance during peak spring break.
Arrive at rope drop on every single day. The first 90 minutes of park operation are dramatically less crowded than mid-day. On EXTREME days, rope drop can mean 30-minute waits for rides that hit 90+ minutes by 10am.
Consider splitting between parks. Open at Animal Kingdom or Universal Studios Florida, then hop to EPCOT or Islands of Adventure in the late afternoon when crowds from those parks partially exit.
Book tickets early — March sells out at peak parks. Authorized resellers often have better prices.
