About Universal Studios Florida Crowds
Universal Studios Florida is the original Universal Orlando park, and it's home to one of the most immersive themed experiences in any theme park: Diagon Alley from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The area's centerpiece, Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts, is consistently the longest wait in this park and one of the most spectacular rides in Orlando. The park also houses The Simpsons Springfield, Minion Land, and classic attractions like Men in Black: Alien Attack and Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.
Universal Studios Florida is generally slightly less crowded than Islands of Adventure next door โ because Hagrid's Motorbike Adventure at IOA is the single biggest draw in all of Universal Orlando. Guests often start at Islands of Adventure for Hagrid's, which means USF typically has a quieter morning rope drop. Take advantage: head straight to Gringotts or Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit at park open when the IOA-first crowd is still on the other side of CityWalk.
In 2026, the opening of Epic Universe has also shifted some crowd pressure off both USF and IOA as guests spread their attention across three parks. Multi-day park-to-park passes are essential for getting the full Universal Orlando experience, and staying at an on-site Universal hotel includes complimentary Express Pass access on select tiers โ one of the best value-adds in all of Orlando.

Top Tips for Universal Studios Florida
Start at Diagon Alley / Gringotts. If your group is a Harry Potter fan, this is the unmissable experience. The immersive theming of Diagon Alley is best appreciated when it's not shoulder-to-shoulder. Arrive at park open.
Early USF, then cross to IOA for Hagrid's. Start your Universal day at USF (while IOA crowds build for Hagrid's), then cross via Hogsmeade connector to Islands of Adventure mid-morning once Hagrid's initial rush has settled.
Stay on-site for Express Pass. Loews and other on-site Universal hotels at certain tier levels include unlimited Express Pass access. On HIGH and EXTREME crowd days this is worth hundreds of dollars in value.
